Summary Page Help
The summary page presents a summary of the possible trade routes you can run. To look for profitable trade routes, select the starting and ending locations and hit 'Search'. To reverse the to and from destinations, hit 'Reverse'.
The island/arcipelago selectors only show locations for which data has been uploaded. If you upload data for a new island, you will need to reload the island list. Do this by selecting 'Reload...'.
On the displayed table, all pairs of islands in the specified source/destination which have profitable trades are listed, with statistics summarizing all possible trades between the two islands. ROI is the Return On Investment, the percentage of capital that you get back as profit. P/M and P/V are the profit per 100 units of mass and volume, respectively. Age is the time since this route's data was uploaded (the age of the older upload is used). Clicking on the column headings sorts the data by that column. Clicking a row brings up the route page with that route's data.
Clicking on the table control handle, the '+' icon in the top-left of the table, brings up the table controls. These can be used to customize the table. When the table controls are visible, below the title row is a list of available columns. These include a colour coded version of the age column, and 'Trips' columns showing how many trips a given route requires in the given ship type. To make a column visible, click on the column name.
Above each column is a set of controls:
Sort table by this column, ascending.
Sort table by this column, descending.
Move this column to the left.
Move this column to the right.
Hide this column. (To show the column again, select it from the list of hidden columns.)
To hide the table controls, hit the table control handle in the upper left corner again. Select 'R' beside the handle to reset the table to its default state. Table layout will normally be saved for 7 days. If cookies are disabled, layout will be lost when you close the web page. If you are using Firefox 2 or later, the table layout will be saved indefinately.
